Privacy
This site helps you plan a trip in Moldova and then sends you on to the businesses that run the experiences. It has no user accounts, asks for nothing to browse, and runs no third-party analytics script. What follows is the exact list of what the server records when you open a page.
What is recorded when you open a page
One row per page view, written on our own server into our own database. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
| Recorded | What it is, and why |
|---|---|
| The page address | The path only, for example /en/experiences. Never the query string, and any part of the address that is a private link (an itinerary you were sent, a survey link) is replaced by a placeholder before it is stored. |
| How you arrived | A category — search engine, AI assistant, social network, e-mail, campaign link, direct, or automated crawler — worked out from the referring site and the campaign tags in the link you followed. |
| The referring site's name | The hostname only, for example google.com. Never the full referring address, which on a search engine contains what you searched for. |
| Campaign tags | The utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term values, but only if the link you followed carried them. |
| A daily visitor key | A one-way cryptographic code computed from your IP address, your browser's identification string and today's date, using a secret held only on our server. It cannot be turned back into your IP address, and because the date is part of it, tomorrow's code for the same person is unrelated to today's. It exists so we can report how many people visited, rather than how many pages were opened. |
| The crawler's name | For automated visitors only (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Googlebot and similar). Recording which one fetched a page is how we report whether AI assistants can find Moldova's tourism offer. Automated visits carry no visitor key and are excluded from every count of people. |
| The time | When the page was opened, in UTC. |
What is not recorded
- Your IP address. It goes into the daily visitor key and is never written to the database.
- Your browser's full identification string. Same: an input to the key, never stored. For automated visitors, only the crawler's name is kept.
- Anything in the page address after the question mark, apart from the campaign tags listed above.
- The full address of the page that linked you here.
- Any name, e-mail address or telephone number. Browsing this site never asks for one.
- Nothing at all is sent to Google Analytics, to an advertising network, or to any other external service. There is no tracking script on this site.
Cookies
Browsing sets no cookie. Reading the catalogue, an experience page or this page stores nothing on your device.
One first-party cookie is set when you use the trip planner, so that the free limit of plans per day can be enforced. It holds a random value and nothing else. If it is present when you open a page, its value is recorded alongside that visit so that several visits from the same browser can be recognised as one planning session rather than as several different people.
Saved favourites stay in your own browser's local storage and are never sent to the server.
How long it is kept
Visit records are kept for as long as the reporting on this project requires. A specific retention window is being agreed with ANTRIM and is not yet in force; when it is, older records are deleted automatically.
Who holds this data, and your rights
The data described above is held by ANTRIM, the National Association of Inbound and Domestic Tourism of Moldova. Under the GDPR and Law no. 195/2024 of the Republic of Moldova you may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, and object to its processing. The published contact route for those requests is pending.
